Hu-Friedy Receives the Race to Empower – Team Acheivement Award

HU-FRIEDY^® RECEIVES THE “RACE TO EMPOWER – TEAM ACHEIVEMENT AWARD” FROM THE NATIONAL BREAST CANCER NETWORK OF STRENGTH

CHICAGO, IL – Hu-Friedy was recently honored among other corporations such as United Airlines, McDonalds, Nordstroms, Sanofi-Aventis, Grant Thornton and Walgreens with the National Breast Cancer Network of Strength Race to Empower – Team Achievement Award. Hu-Friedy was recognized for recruiting corporate teams in multiple markets across the country. Hu-Friedy alone raised over $20,000 with 176 team members participating in six total markets – Atlanta, Chicago, New Haven, Sacramento, San Diego, Washington DC.

The Award was presented at an intimate reception at the Chicago Hilton Garden Inn by breast cancer survivor and the Network’s CEO and Founder, Margaret Kirk. The Network of Strength states that “the Award was created to acknowledge and commend the tremendous amount of coordination and effort it requires to organize teams across the nation.”

2008 is a special year for both Hu-Friedy and the National Breast Cancer Network of Strength (formally known as the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization). It marks Hu-Friedy’s 100th birthday and the Network’s 30th anniversary. Race teams formed under the Hu-Friedy name and included representation from the American Association of Women Dentists and “Modern Hygienist” Magazine.

Hu-Friedy is proud to support the Network of Strength and eager to begin fundraising efforts for the 2009 Race to Empower.
