Roger M. Arce, DDS, MS, PhD, is an assistant professor and researcher in the Department of Periodontics at the College of Dental Medicine, GRU. He studies the clinical and molecular host/pathogen interactions observed in periodontal diseases and their connections with systemic diseases, including the biological mechanisms of oral bacteria leading to pregnancy complications. Arce has authored several research papers on preterm low-birth weight and contributed a book chapter on oral bacteremia and systemic disease implications. He teaches predoctoral dental students and post-graduate residents, while also maintaining a faculty practice limited to periodontics and implant dentistry. Arce can be reached at: [email protected]
