Laurence Chow, PhD, has been with the American Dental Association Foundation (ADAF) since 1969 and currently is assistant director and chief research scientist of the ADAF Paffenbarger Research Center at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His research interests include dental caries mechanism, remineralization, and calcium phosphate biomaterials. He has coauthored more than 150 peer reviewed papers and over 200 published abstracts, and is co-inventor of about 30 American and foreign patents. In 1998 he received the Distinguished Scientist Award for Basic Research in Biomineralization from the International Association for Dental Research.
