
Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Sponsors Alla J. Wheeler Award
Beloved dental hygiene professor lost to cancer is honored each year with this award given to one student graduating from New York University’s Dental Hygiene Program.

Voted on by members of the dental hygiene class, Luglio exemplified a high level of ethics in all aspects of the dental hygiene program at NYU. Her classmates noted her dedication to patient care and professionalism both in the clinic and in the classroom.
Luglio’s future looks bright and includes continuing to work as an assistant at Stern Orthodontics in Mount Kisco, New York. She looks forward to starting her dental hygiene career in the state of New York.
“ I am so honored to receive this award and I look forward to continuing my patient care as a dental hygienist in the near future,” Luglio notes.
Supported by Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, this award is presented to a graduating dental hygiene student who has demonstrated high levels of professionalism and ethics. This peer-nominated award commemorates Alla J. Wheeler, RDH, MPA, a clinical assistant professor of dental hygiene at NYU and a Dimensions’ Peer Review Panel member and contributor, who passed away from cancer in June 2010.
