Dimensions’ Editorial Advisory Board Welcomes a New Member
Dimensions of Dental Hygiene is pleased to announce its newest Editorial Advisory Board member: Jennifer Brame, EdD, MS, BSDH, RDH. She is a clinical professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Adams School of Dentistry, where she serves as the assistant dean for faculty development and director of the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Education Graduate Program. Brame teaches in a variety of courses including clinical education and care, educational methodologies, leadership and management, research design, and professional development across undergraduate and graduate dental hygiene, predoctoral dental, and advanced dental education programs.
In 2020, she received the 2020 American Dental Hygienists’ Association Institute for Oral Health Dr. Esther Wilkins Scholarship. Brame’s commitment to professional development and faculty mentoring is evident through her participation in faculty development initiatives and mentoring teams. As a national speaker, she presents continuing education on oral health topics such as oral health for the primary care team, management of care for pregnant patients, interprofessional care and collaborative practice for patients with diabetes, and on faculty development topics such as succession planning, faculty and graduate student mentoring, best practices in graduate education, psychological safety, and cognitive apprenticeship.
Brame is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, American Dental Education Association, and Sigma Phi Alpha, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to the profession.
