Connecticut Dental Hygiene Program Receives Grant to Expand Operations

The Dental Hygiene Program at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut, received a $70,000 grant to purchase new equipment, including an instrument sterilizer, oral cancer detection system, and intraoral cameras. The equipment will enable the University of New Haven Dental Clinic to serve more patients while providing dental hygiene students with additional learning opportunities. The grant was provided by the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority. The University of New Haven’s Dental Hygiene Program offers both an Associate of Science and a Bachelor of Science option, and the school’s clinic serves a low-income patient population.
