Ensuring Medication Safety in the Dental Setting

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

1. Explain why a comprehensive medical and pharmacological history is an integral part of safe and effective dental treatment.
2. Describe how clinicians can help manage medications to avoid possible adverse drug interactions.
3. Discuss possible clinical considerations for generic drugs, and the management of patients with hypertension and/or uncontrolled diabetes.
