A revolution in oral biofilm removal, Vista’s Dental’s NEW Plak Vac™ is the only device on the market specifically designed to professionally remove biofilm from the patient’s tongue during prophylaxis and disposing of the build-up through your high volume suction. With the emphasis in prophylaxis on the disruption of the oral biofilm and up to 33% of this biofilm left behind on the tongue following a procedure, the Plak Vac™ should be a welcome addition to any operatory. Plaque build-up on the tongue is also a major cause of halitosis and root caries.
The Plak Vac™ is simple to use and takes about 30 seconds during the scheduled appointment time. After placing the Plak Vac™ in the high speed suction, the hygienist asks the patient to stick out their tongue, holds the tongue with a 2×2 gauze and uses the Plak Vac™ in a sweeping motion starting at the back of the tongue moving forward. This motion is repeated several times until the entire surface of the tongue is cleaned.
Recommended for use during all prophylaxis appointments, the Plak Vac™ can be used on adults and children.
