Maine Implements Virtual Dental Homes for At-Risk Children

The Children’s Oral Health Network of Maine is launching virtual dental homes for children across the state who do not have access to dental services. Funded through a $650,000 federal grant, the program uses teledentistry to enable dentists to evaluate patients and create treatment plans. The actual dental care is provided in either school- or primary-care based settings by dental hygienists.
