French Village Uses Humor to Try to Attract a Dental Provider

Champlitte, a French village located in Eastern France, is counting on humor to attract a new dentist to the small town of 1,800. Champlitte’s long-term dentist is retiring, and the town’s leadership is struggling to find a replacement. Thus, the city council decided to post a humorous ad on Facebook featuring a beautiful woman with some seriously bad teeth in hopes of attracting a new provider. The plot seems to have worked, as Champlitte’s mayor now has an interview with a candidate for the position. In many rural areas of France, there are fewer than 40 dentists per 100,000 residents.
